Stress of Summer- Relax with Music

Listening to relaxing music is a well known stress reliever – it’s effective in calming our mood, it’s cheap and can complement other relaxation techniques.

You can even simply listen to music to lighten your spirits while doing mundane tasks like cooking, ironing, commuting or waiting in a line.

Music is effective as it encourages your brain wavesto beat in accordance to the music. Gentle music will allow your heart beats to slow down and in turn our breathing and this puts our brains in relaxation mode and allows us to feel calmer and destress. Those are just few of relaxing music benefits.

At work: If you find yourself getting stressed take a break and listen to some music, regularly on your lunch break or even on low volume as you work.

At home: create a spot in your house or garden where you can be relaxed and at ease and switch on the music player for some de-stressing time!

While commuting - download your favourite relaxing music onto your MP3 player and de-stress. (commuting is a stressor of many, music in your headphones will work magic). Creative Zen MP3 player  is my choice.

Don't have any relaxing music at home or work? Grab some music ideas HERE.

Or try this amazing Relaxation and Visualization CD - Calm Within ( my choice) that promotes relaxation and reduces stress.
